Introduction

Founded in 1996, UKMT operates as a registered charity, dedicated to advancing young people's education in mathematics. The UKMT offer their main Junior,  Intermediate and Senior Maths challenges and are seen as the UK's most popular school maths competitions. Through a diverse range of national-level competitions and activities, UKMT engages students aged 11 to 18 in the UK. Every year over 700,000 students across the world take part in The UKMT challenges.

The aim of these challenges is to encourage mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. The problems are designed to make students think. These challenges are highly regarded by top universities like Cambridge and Oxford, and bulk up the application for those top universities.
